Hope and Encouragement

‎"He will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces; He will remove His people’s disgrace from all the earth. The LORD has spoken." Isaiah 25:8

Me

"Men go abroad to wonder at the height of mountains, the huge waves of the sea, the long course of rivers, the vast compass of the ocean, the circular motion of the stars; but they pass by themselves and they don't even notice."  -St. Augustine  "For you created my inmost being;   you knit me together in my mother’s womb.  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;  your works are wonderful,   I know that full well.  My frame was not hidden from you  when I was made in the secret place,   when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.  Your eyes saw my unformed body;  all the days ordained for me were written in your book   before one of them came to be."   - Psalm 139:14-16

Good Friday

Image
Today is Good Friday. Why do we call the day that Jesus died GOOD Friday? Why not like Sad Friday or Bad Friday? I asked my dad he said well what do you think? Friday: The Day Jesus Died (Or at least we think) Good: Usually when you think of someone dieing it is a sad affair. But for Jesus this was a good death. This death covered the sins of everyone who will ever live or has lived. Today is the day we remember Jesus' Death on the cross. How much he loved us to go through what he did. You can read about it here . Today just take some time to reflect upon what Jesus has done for you and thank him for it.

An adulterous!?!?

I am reading through the gospels and just started Mathew. It was going through Jesus' genealogy and in verse six (part b)of chapter one it says " David was the father of Solomon, whose mother had been Uriah's wife. In 2 Samuel chapter eleven it tells us that David saw a woman bathing and she was beautiful. He sent someone to get her and they slept together, after she had gone home she sent word to David and told him she was pregnant. David had Uriah put in the front line of a battle and he was killed. David later had Bathsheba (Uriah's wife) brought to him and she became his wife. Her son was Solomon. Jesus came from him. Why did God choose an adulterous to have Jesus come from? I think it was because God wanted us to know that he can make good come from bad. Just think about it. What do you think??
